Galveston 2020 - Xscapers Texas Winter Homebase

Our first event with the Xscapers in Galveston was the Texas Winter Homebase.

During the pandemic we joined a group called Xscapers. It's a subgroup of the Escapees RV Club for working age RVers. Since we had discussed going fulltime we decided to do 2 months in Galveston Texas at this event. Normally this group would host what they call Convergences. Due to the pandemic they decided to have two extended stay events. There was a Texas and California Homebase. Each attendee was required to stay at least 1 month, practice social distancing and take very precaution possible to prevent the spread of Covid within the group and community. We stayed in Galveston for 2 months. In that time we made a LOT of changes.

One of the fun events was the Anything But a Cup contest. Michael went full creative mode on this event and won!

During this time we met so many great dogs and their humans! Marty met a Basenji named Gigi. She was Marty's Galveston Gal.

Mayhem the littlest big dog

As we hung out by campfires for happy hour one evening at a fellow Xscapers dog, Mayhem the Malamute, decided to test out Marty's doggie camp bed.

We took Marty for many walks on the beach. Is favorite activity was to chase the little sand crabs back to their holes. He also spent a good amount of time outside on his bed soaking up the Texas winter sunshine. The RV Resort had a lazy river! It was warm enough in November to use it quite a few times and we all took advantage of it!
